Assailants flee after firing at 26-year-old doctor’s face: Dwarka, Delhi

On Monday night a 26-year-old resident doctor Hemant Mudgal working at RTR Hospital was shot in the face by two men waiting inside his car outside the hospital gate, in Dwarka.

A senior doctor at RTR hospital said that the victim Hemant had just arrived at the hospital. When he entered his car, two men were sitting in the backseat. He started driving and took a sharp turn, one of them fell on the road, while the other hit him with the pistol and forced him to stop and step out of the car. Both men then took away the car. The guards tried to stop them but they fled. Hemant had a bullet injury on his jaw and was admitted to RTR Hospital.

The witnesses raised allegations of carjacking, but Shankar Choudhary, DCP (Dwarka), said they did not believe so. They were tracking all the CCTVs footage inside and around the hospital to arrest the accused and multiple teams were working for the same. Police said that the doctor was shifted to a private hospital by his family.

The Delhi Police tweeted, that a case under the attempt to murder & Arms Act had been registered. The victim was undergoing treatment at a hospital and was stable.
